Graduation Theme:

I look up to the sky
and now the world is mine
I’ve known it all my life
I made it, I made it!
I used to dream about, the life I’m living now
I know that there’s no doubt
I made it, I made it!

I graduated from Parsons the New School for Design this past May 2010. ::Thank you, thank you::

It is, indeed, a great accomplishment and I am very proud of it. I think it’s pretty big to say that I am a Latino (Ecuadorian) that grew up in the projects of New York City, gone threw my entire life of schooling and came out with a MFA at the age of 24. Since I made it, I always try and encourage others to do it as well. This is why I based my thesis at Parsons about urban youth such as myself, and introducing design to them at an early age. Check out my thesis page here: http://a.parsons.edu/~lucis270/thesis/

Now I am working, volunteering, and mentoring at the East Harlem Tutorial Program. It has been intense because I am teaching a 3D Design class to high school students for the first time. I truly give it up to teachers everywhere! It is a TOUCH job! Nonetheless, it has been a very rewarding experience so far and I plan to do this for the next year or so.

Once I get to do all of these projects that I had to turn down because I did not have the time to do because of school and build my skill up in motion graphics, then I will apply to work at design firms. But for right now, I am continuing my quest to be happy, and that, I surely am. =)
